Machine to Machine

ICP DAS USA has been striving to develop cost-effective solutions to industries.   Machine to Machine technology has become the new trend.   Like human beings, machines also need to communicate with each other.   The M2M technology allows you to connect your devices and have access to it online.   The Machine to Machine technology can be used in various applications ranging from home application to large scale industrial machines.   Thanks to the advancement in GSM and GPRS technologies, wireless integration with wired-machines becomes more effective and affordable than ever.   Below are some M2M applications using our M2M programmable controllers.

Temperature Inspection System

As the number of traffic accidents grow these days, safety has been attached great significance in industrial design. For example, the over heated train shaft can cause serious damage to a running train and its passengers. Therefore, ICP DAS has developed the Train Shaft Temperature Inspection System to cater to safety concerns. We placed infrared temperature sensors around shafts, and these sensors are connected to our G-4500 M2M Mini Programmable Automation Controllers. The G-4500 M2M PACs will transmit data via GPRS network to the Internet and send real time data back to the control center.  With the shaft temperature monitoring system, the control center can easily detect over-heated shaft in a train and send alarms to the train immediately in order to prevent the danger.

Street Lights Monitoring System

ICP DAS provides an effective solution for Street Lights Remote Monitoring. Inside each control box of the street lights, we placed a WinPAC Windows CE embedded Programmable Automation Controller and Data Acquisition I/O Modules to acquire data from the control box.  All real time data will be sent back to the control center by using the GTM-201-USB Industrial Quad-band GPRS / GSM Modem.   Therefore, With the Street Lights Monitoring System, it is easy to maintain and monitor each street light responsively.

Vending/Gaming Machine Monitor

We see vending machines or gaming machines everywhere.  However, it might cost lots of time and labor to maintain each one of them. To save users the trouble, ICP DAS has introduced a Gaming/Vending Machine Monitoring and Report System allowing for easy maintenance of the machine.  Each machine has a GT-530 or GT-534 Intelligent SMS/GSM Alarm Controller inside.  Whenever the vending machines or gaming machines need maintenance, for example, the vending machine ran out of drinks, the GT-530/GT-534 controller will automatically send SMS or voice messages to users.  Users can then send someone over to solve the problem.

Factory Wireless Solution

The ZT series ZigBee Network converters and I/O modules not only compliy with the RoHS Directive but also conforms with IEEE802.15.4 wireless communication standard. Through ZT-2570 ZigBee Master and ZT-2571 ZigBee Slave, users can easily build a wireless RS-232/RS485/Ethernet network in a most efficient way. It supports ad-hoc, stat, and mesh network topology, and coexists with 65535 nodes. The communication distance is up to 100 meters (700 meters with enhanced antenna). In some existing systems with RS-485/RS-232 network, it is sometimes difficult to integrate new devices due to building structure issues, wiring problems or other reasons. The ZT series ZigBee wireless modules can be easily added to an existing system in order to extend your network.

Data Positioning and Monitoring System

The mini G-4500 is a compact programmable automation controller with a built-in GPRS/GSM antenna. By using the G-4500 PACs, user can easily acquire data from any site without wiring limitation. G-4500 can also work with a GPS module that allows users to monitor the location of moving vehicles. With the G-4500 GPRS/GSM programmable automation controller on a vehicle, users can monitor its position as well as manage the fuel consumption.
